On to our next wedding in September, yep you guessed – it took us back to Staffordshire and Packington Moor, sadly for our last visit of this year. Its been a brilliant year working at the venue and alongside the team, we’re already looking forward to returning in 2017.
Our day began shortly before 9am, joining Zoe, her family and bridesmaids at the Premier Inn in Lichfield as wedding day preparations got under way. An advantage of everyone being in one room together is there is always something happening in front of you to photograph, from entertaining the kids, hair and make, or gifts being opened.
Meanwhile Chris’ day started in somewhat different surroundings! With the boys all heading for an early morning bounce at Flip Out trampoline centre in Sandwell, which Zoe had arranged, before heading back home to change and make the onward journey to the venue.
The bridal party began to arrive at the venue around 11am to continue their morning of preparation, Something Borrowed and Carrie Lucas Flowers were busily decorating both the Oat Barn and the Malt Barn, with Zoe adding the finishing touches.
At 1.30pm Zoe dressed in her stunning wedding dress from ‘Your Wedding Shop‘ was accompanied down the isle by her Dad, Brian.
After a short ceremony, in which Zoe and Tom’s daughter Paige entertained guests throughout with her dancing and chatter, the couple made their way into the courtyard to enjoy their drinks reception and canapes, while the brilliant Ben Drummond provided a musical backdrop.
After confetti outside the courtyard and group shots on the lawn the couple headed back to spend time with guests.
We then met up later with the couple for their relaxed portraits (at locations experimented with during their pre wedding shoot). Packington clearly has an abundance of areas, every pre wedding shoot and wedding allows us to look for new opportunities alongside incorporating some of the more tried and tested locations.
As we returned guests were being seated ready to welcome the new Mr & Mrs Burchell into the room followed by speeches from Zoe’s mum (Julie), Tom, and finally it was over to his best men, brother Jake and friend Luke, to recite stories about Tom’s life.
Before everyone including 2 very happy photographers enjoyed a starter of Scotch Egg, followed by a Fillet of beef and concluding with an amazing trio of deserts (crème brulee, sticky toffee pudding and cheesecake).
As the evening celebrations got underway Mr & Mrs Burchell took centre stage on the dance floor for their first dance, before guests enjoyed one of Galloping Gourmet’s fantastic barbecues in the courtyard.
Zoe & Tom, what a great day, it was a pleasure to be involved in your wedding day, huge congratulations we wish you and your family all the best for the future.
Alex & Chris
