Wedding Photography & Wedding Film
What a weekend!! Two weddings, two amazing couples, two brilliant venues and two days with temperatures in the high 20’s (Celsius) – the question is where to start?
The beginning is usually a good idea. On Friday we headed back to what we like to call home turf – otherwise know as Packington Moor Barn Wedding venue, in Staffordshire, this time to photograph & video Amy & Mitch’s wedding day.
For anyone reading our blog for the first time, the barn wedding venue located on a working farm near Lichfield oozes character and rustic charm. Run by a brilliant team, wedding days are always a pleasure.
Friday began at Anthony John Salons located at Heart of the Country as we joined Amy, her mum and bridesmaids as preparations began, they were soon joined by Katy Bird makeup artist, before decamping to Walters Cottage at Packington.
Meanwhile fellow suppliers including Emily Wisher Artisan Florist was busy decorating the Oat Barn & Malt Barn and a semi naked wedding cake (by Victoria’s Cake Company) with seasonal dusty pinks and purples- Hydrangeas, Roses, Sweet Peas, Freesia and Clematis to create a beautiful vintage feel.
Whilst all this was happening Chris had headed towards the Leicestershire boarder to meet up with Mitch at their family home to document the grooms morning prep. Joined by his best man, brother James and parents, they spent a relaxed morning getting ready whilst watching the F1 qualifying, before making their way to Packington for final preparations and photographs at the venue.
As guests began to arrive the temperature continued to rise along with the excitement of all parties as the service approached. Shortly after 1pm, accompanied by her Dad, Amy dressed in her stunning wedding dress by designer Amanda Wyatt courtesy of Wedding Belles of Kibworth, made her entrance in to the Oat Barn as the talented Ben Drummond performed.
After a short ceremony the couple made their way into the courtyard to enjoy their drinks reception and canopies, whilst listening to the brilliant vocals of Ben, briefly stopping to head outside the courtyard for confetti and a handful of small group photographs before returning to soak up the sunshine.
Following time with family and friends we headed off with Amy & Mitch into the perfectly kept gardens, utilising locations from the couples pre wedding shoot and taking advantage of the shade provided by the trees. Returning with the couple as guests began to make their way into the Malt Barn to enjoy Pork Spring Roll, Fillet of Beef and chocolate brownie.
After speeches by Amy’s dad, Mitch, best man and brother James the Malt Barn was cleared ahead of the evening reception. Guests headed into both the Oat Barn and out into the courtyard, whilst we met up with Amy & Mitch to explore the tree lined drive to the venue alongside the rustic farm building later to be joined by all the bridal party for a relaxed informal picture together.
Further guests began to arrive and the smell of a barbecue filled the air as the evening reception got underway. Amy and Mitch were soon taking the applause of all their family and friends as they made their way back into the Malt Barn for their first dance.
Amy & Mitch – what a pleasure to photograph your wedding day, we wish you an amazing honeymoon and all the best for the future together.
