FAQ’s

Please read through our FAQ’s, if you have any further questions please get in touch.

We are getting married in 2018/19, can we book already?
Definitely, book as far ahead as you like, we are already taking bookings for both 2018 & 2019. Once you’ve received confirmation of booking from your venue please get in touch so we can discuss your plans.

What areas do you cover?
Anywhere, we are based in Derbyshire – but cover weddings throughout the UK and beyond. Additional travel and accommodation costs may need to be covered for weddings taking place further afield however, please get in touch so we can discuss your day in more detail first.

Do you offer a consultation for us to discuss our day with you before booking?
Always. Meeting with us is one of the most important things you do before choosing your wedding photographer. Its the first step in getting to know each other. The consultation also enables us to discuss your plans for the day, showing you our sample albums, alongside answering any questions you may have and explaining a little more about ourselves and the way we work.

How much do you charge and what is included?
We offer one package believing this offers value for money for the service you will receive. Please remember the photographic coverage is just one aspect of the job, processing, editing and presenting the photographs takes several days and is all built into the package price.

Do you provide a pre-wedding shoot?
Yes. The pre-wedding shoot is an essential part of our service and included in your package, lasting around a hour and undertaken at your venue 3-5 weeks prior to your wedding day. The meeting and shoot is an ideal opportunity for us to meet again, discuss your photography, get you used to being in front of the camera and for you to see how we work. Helping you feel relaxed and comfortable on your wedding day.

Can you help if we are camera shy?
Of course, we understand that being photographed is not a everyday occurrence, using our experience we can help you with positioning and ideas which reflex you both as a couple, making you feel natural and relaxed in your pictures.

We want you to photograph our wedding, how will we reserve our wedding date?
Once you have decided you want to go ahead, please get in touch, we will then send out your wedding contract. When this has been returned along with deposit paid your date is booked. Your remaining balance is then due eight weeks before your wedding date.

Why do you use two photographers?
We each have our own style as photographers and alongside our experience of working together we are able to achieve a blend of approaches distinctive to Page 7 Wedding Photography. Its also beneficial to both parties, enabling us to be in two places at once capturing your day from different angles, alongside assisting each other with the organisation of people and photographs.

Do you provide a video service as well?
Yes, our videographer brings with him over 10 years experience as a film maker. Forget your preconceptions about wedding films, our productions are far from the traditional, with an attention to details and cinematic approach capturing the essence and emotion of your day. However don’t just take our word for it take a look at some clips for yourself on our website – www.page7weddingphotography.co.uk

What equipment do you use?
We use professional Canon DSLR cameras, top of the range professional lenses and a host of lighting equipment to make sure we are always able to complete the job. This is what sets us apart as professionals. We use different lenses throughout the wedding so we can cover different angles or ranges to get the best shots and craft a better story. Having the right equipment means we can get the variety of shots you want with minimal disruption.

What happens if you are sick or injured and cant make it to our wedding?
This hasn’t happened and it would take a serious health problem for us to not be at your wedding. If this was to occur we would employ a professional photographer from our network of individuals whom we have worked with in the past, to work alongside us.

Do you require a meal on the day?
Yes please, wedding days start early and finish late, so a meal would be very much appreciated to help recharge the energy levels.

How many photographs do you take during our wedding?
Throughout your day we take as many pictures as possible. Generally we don’t stop taking photographs for the whole day (aside from during the wedding breakfast).

How many pictures do we get?
This is dependant on many factors including coverage, wedding size, weather and the photographic opportunities. It would be typical to deliver around 400 edited images to the client.

Can I have all the pictures you took at our wedding?
Sorry, no. As above we select only the best and it is these images we edit and deliver to you the client.

Are our images edited?
Yes. As above the selected pictures are all adjusted to show them at their best. This might include adjusting brightness, contrast or colour.

Do you take group pictures?
Yes, family pictures are important however, through our experience we suggest limiting them in number as the time they can take to organise, may impact on your day. We recommend 4 or 5, leaving enough time for candid photography of the guests and the more creative portraits of the bride and groom.

When can we and our guests view the photographs?
We aim to have your images edited and delivered to you in 4-5 weeks after your wedding day. We will also blog a preview of your wedding shortly after your day.

Why is there a deadline of 6 months for designing our album?
Selecting the photographs for your album should be an enjoyable experience, everybody has heard stories of couples taking years to select their wedding images or approve album designs in which time album prices and availability change. The longer it is left the more of a chore it can become for both parties and whilst your memories of the day are still fresh it can be easier to create an album which flows through the order of the day.

How long does an album take to produce and be delivered?
After you have selected which photographs you would like in your album, we design the layouts before sending you a proof copy. After you have approved the album design the album manufacture takes eight weeks.

How many pictures should we select for our album?
Through experience we recommend you aim to select 50-60 images for an album of 30 pages. he choice of images heavily influences the layout of the book which in turn has an impact on the number of images that can be displayed. With this in mind we recommend you choose a number of “must have” pictures and a number of “maybe” pictures from your USB. Should you wish to choose more additional spreads can be purchased.

Who owns the copyright of the images?
By law the photographer retains the copyright of every image they capture. Your high-resolution USB containing all the final images is included in the packages. These images are yours to print for personal use, email, send to your friends etc. In fact any activity that is not commercial (i.e. selling an image for advertising, stock sites etc.). The lower-resolution images which we also include are great for emailing, blogs and Facebook but will not be of high enough quality to print from and has our logo on. In return we retain the right to use the images for advertising and promotion of Page 7 Wedding Photography and for any commercial opportunities.

Do you have insurance?
Yes we do and don’t leave home without it, whether for a wedding or a commercial job! We have full, public liability and professional indemnity insurance.
